How to fill your storage unit – a practical guide to packing and protecting your belongings
When your things get a new home in storage, a little preparation goes a long way towards keeping everything safe and stress-free. Disassemble furniture where possible, wrap fragile items carefully and protect textiles. Stack heavy boxes at the bottom and make use of the height – you'll be surprised how much fits. Make sure to pack everything according to our guidelines, as this is a requirement for any insurance claims.

At the storage unit – fill the space safely and efficiently
Here are the key rules for keeping your belongings safe:
Stack heavy boxes at the bottom. Light ones always on top.
Make use of the height. Chairs, small furniture and shelving units can be stacked.
Position tables correctly.
Best method: table upside down on the floor with padding underneath.
If legs are removed, store them separately and protected.
Store large items upright. Sofas, beds, paintings and mirrors.
Use protective plastic to keep dust off.
Final check: all items packed and protected according to the guidelines.
Important reminder: Packing and protecting your belongings is your responsibility. If the guidelines are not followed, damage may not be covered by insurance.
