How do you terminate your storage unit?

Terminating your storage unit is straightforward. A fixed-term agreement ends automatically at the end of the agreed period – you don't need to do anything. An open-ended agreement, however, must be terminated at least 14 days before the end of the rental period.

The quickest way to handle it is through Oma tili: a few clicks and it's done. You can also send a free-form message to info@cityvarasto.fi.

Terminate in seconds via Oma tili:

  • Log in to Oma tili.

  • Select the storage unit you want to terminate.

  • Submit the termination request – and that's it.

Alternative: terminate by email:

  • Write a short message: your name + storage unit number + preferred end date.

  • Send to info@cityvarasto.fi.

Most customers handle this in under a minute – faster than a cup of coffee goes cold.

How a fixed-term rental agreement ends

A fixed-term agreement works in the simplest way possible:

  • It ends automatically on the last day stated in the agreement.

  • No separate termination needed. (This is one of those rare moments in life where you don't need to remember a thing.)

Do remember these, though:

  • Empty and clean the unit on the last day.

  • Remove your lock from the door.

  • If belongings are left in the unit, the agreement automatically converts to an open-ended one.

Terminating an open-ended agreement

An open-ended storage unit ends when you submit a formal termination. Notice must be given at least 14 days before the last day of the rental period. The notice period applies to both parties.

Termination is possible via Oma tili (quickest option) or by email to info@cityvarasto.fi.

Tip: rental period dates are easy to check in Oma tili.

Once the unit is terminated – what do you need to do?

After terminating, handle these three things:

  1. Empty the unit completely.

  2. Clean the space (a quick sweep is enough – no deep clean expected).

  3. Remove your lock from the door.

Once that's done, the space is handed over to the next occupant in just as good a condition.
