Cityvarasto Oyj has expanded its services by making a business transaction with Suomen Opiskelijamuutot Oy. The business of Suomen Opiskelijamuutot was transferred to the ownership of a new subsidiary in March and the entire staff, approximately 40 people, will be transferred to the new company as old employees.

The removal services of Opiskelijamuutot  complements the services offered by Cityvarasto to its customers. In addition to self storage facilities, the Group already has van rental services offered by Pakuovelle.Com Oy and, in the future, comprehensive removal services and moving boxes.

Initially, the removal business will focus on the Helsinki metropolitan area, and expanding nationwide in the future. Also the moving boxes business of the Group will move under the new Muuttolaatikko.Online brand and in the future Cityvarasto Group will be able to offer all services to the mover under one roof.

- Purchasing Opiskelijamuutot to our Group is part of our long-term plan to take the entire value chain into our own hands. We are now able to offer all services for self-transporting goods, temporary storage, packaging or even removal services," says Ville Stenroos, founder and CEO of Cityvarasto.

Opiskelijamuutot is mainly operating in the Helsinki metropolitan area, and it was founded in 2013. The company's turnover is in the category of more than a million and most of this comes from private removals. The removal fleet consists of 16 large removal vehicles with tail lifts.

- Our Group has already done business with removals and moving boxes in the past, but it has been based on subcontracting for our part. Now, with a strong and good brand, we get to do a comprehensive removal service ourselves.
